Attention to detail

This quick little post will help give your exposed flat open seams a more polished look and add a little bit of glamour!

When finishing off flat open seams on a garment or project where the seams are exposed, for example a jacket, add a handmade satin binding to the edges.

Works best when:
  1. the main fabric is a little heavier - if the fabric is too light it will create a ridge when pressed
  2. the satin fabric is thinner (a cheap lining fabric is perfect).
  3. the binding is not to wide
  4. your seams are at least 5/8 inch in thickness
