How to use a bias tape maker

I received an email from a lovely Haby G customer this week asking if I'd made a tutorial about using a bias tape maker.  I know I have somewhere along the line but I can't seem to find it so I have whipped up another one seen as I had fabric already cut on the bias ready for more piping!

Pictured is a Clover 12mm Bias Maker.  You will need to cut your fabric on the bias - see this tutorial for an easy way. Feed fabric through wide end evenly.

Feed through until it comes out the other end.

Turn your steam setting off on the iron and press as you gently pull to bias maker in the other direction.

Lovely handmade bias ready to use!

What a great tutorial Jodie...I brought a bias maker a few months back but discarded the instructions and haven't known how to use it, it really is so much easier than I thought it would be.
Thanks

I love my bias maker, I love floral bias binding but I hate cutting fabric on the bias. Any tips?
Oh and I have that fabric on my bed right now.

I have one of these but it never comes out this neatly. I've not managed to cut the strips the right width yet. How do you know how wide they should be?

Sewing Nut, I would add another 5-7mm to each side for fold over. So if you have a bias maker that is for 18mm, 5 + 18 + 5 = 28mm wide strips.
