Sustainable Products: Hoooked Zpagetti Yarn

After seeing this very cool product here, I headed straight to the Zpagetti website to check it out.

This yarn is made from the latest fashion material offcuts in high quality elastic cotton, making it a sustainable alternative. The width of the strips in my ball were approx 4cm so I needed a large 12mm crochet hook which I also purchased from their online store. The width of strips in other balls may vary.

There are heaps of designs in either patterned or plain but you will need to purchase all that you need as once the stock is gone it won't be re-ordered.

Zpagetti's headquarters are in Melbourne and their service was excellent ~ I received my order the very next day (but I'm also in Melbourne). The balls are priced according to weight.   Starter kits are available for purchase and there is also a section with free patterns.

The ball I purchased above is called Fruit Loops and weighted 810 grams and cost $14.60 plus postage.  Using a treble crochet stitch, it made up a piece approx 57cm x 33cm.  Easy to use for a novice crocheter like me. This piece only took a couple of hours to do.

A fun product to use!

I saw this at the Craft show too. I have just finished a bag with a lovely purple yarn and it was very easy to use. Hope to put a post up on my blog about it soon too.
The ladies at the show were lovely and mentioned that they would have more patterns online soon.

This is so cool! The picture of it made up kind of reminds me of the rag rugs we have around here and it made me wonder if you could use this yarn to crochet rugs instead....so gorgeous anyway, thanks for sharing Jodie! Will have to show my sis who loves knitting...

Megan, this is perfect for rugs. That's kind of what I made, only I wish I had purchased another ball as I would of liked it to be a bit bigger with a fringe. My daughter claimed it as a little foot rug for in front of her beanbag, she loves it!

I'm super new to crochet Jodie lol.
How difficult would it be for a beginner to knit/crochet?
