The finer points

I must confess that I'm a little rough around the edges when it comes to embroidery, tying knots and doing all sorts of naughty things. So when discussing last weeks R.A.P project for the kids at school with a friend, she showed me the correct way to start off an embroidery project - no more knots!!!

Depending on the count of your fabric, split your thread. I'm using a single thread.

Fold your thread in half and thread the two open ends through the needles eye, leaving a full loop at the other end.

Do your first stitch and leave a small loop at the end

Pass the needle back through the loop and pull gently.

And you will be left with a beautiful flat starting stitch like this ♥
