My first attempt.........

Caught up with a family friend on Wednesday who also happens to own 'Little Bits' in Keysborough. A little shop full to the brim of all stamping and scrapbooking supplies. As I normally do neither of these crafts, it was all very new to me and each item Leslie introduced me to was met with lots of Oooh's & Aaahhh's. I could of (1) spent an fortune and (2) wasted many hours checking out every nook and cranny of this delightful little shop. So these were my purchases.........

Leslie didn't have any carving tools in stock (they are on order) so I just purchased ready made stamps to have a play with. The ink I am trying firstly is Versacraft, a fabric ink which needs to be heat set to cure.

Here are the first samples of my stamping on twill.....

I think the main thing to do is practice lots before using for good fabric or twill. I found it hard to get the same result with each stamp. Still trying to work out the correct pressure to apply. Also you need to get spacing etc spot on.

I did prefer using the clear photopolymer stamps that you mount on a clear block to the traditional rubber stamp. They were much easy to see placement on the tape and also that you have even coverage of ink on the stamp.

I can't wait till I get the tools to have a go at carving my own stamps. Will keep you informed! A more detailed post will be available soon in the newsletter including links to suppliers and tutorials. I will also be giving away a Two Cheese Please stamping kit. In the meantime if you are looking for a fantastic supplier of all things stamping try Leslie at "Little Bits"

Two fav fabrics are back in stock!

These two Alexander Henry fabrics flew out the door last time so don't miss out again!
This adorable Pink Starling is light weight and 112 cm wide.

A quality quilting weight, this 2D Zoo fabric is 100% cotton and 112cm wide. Both are now available in the online store.
