This quick little post will help give your exposed flat open seams a more polished look and add a little bit of glamour!
When finishing off flat open seams on a garment or project where the seams are exposed, for example a jacket, add a handmade satin binding to the edges.
Works best when:
- the main fabric is a little heavier - if the fabric is too light it will create a ridge when pressed
- the satin fabric is thinner (a cheap lining fabric is perfect).
- the binding is not to wide
- your seams are at least 5/8 inch in thickness
